Reign clinch berth in Calder Cup Playoffs

The Ontario Reign have wrapped up a berth in the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs, their third straight journey to the postseason since becoming a member of the AHL.

The Reign turned the second crew from the Pacific Division and the seventh crew total to clinch a playoff berth, punching their ticket with a Three-2 win over San Diego on Friday evening.

This would be the ninth consecutive Calder Cup Playoff look for the Los Angeles Kings’ prime improvement affiliate, and the 16th in 17 seasons for the reason that Manchester Monarchs joined the league in 2001.

The AHL’s 2017-18 common season ends Sunday, Apr. 15; for extra info and day by day updates on the Calder Cup Playoff races, take a look at the official AHL Playoff Primer.
